How do you talk to yourself? That voice in your head–is it saying kind things to you, or is it saying negative and critical things?
How often does that self-talk say things such as:
“You are not smart enough to do that.”
“You know you always mess up.”
“Who are you to express your opinion.”
“You will never be able to…” and on, and on.
We are all familiar with the “put your oxygen mask on before you help others” saying.
In the same sense, if you want to be more compassionate to others–your children, your family–you need to strengthen your own self-compassion muscle. Be kind and understanding to yourself, as you would to a friend.
The Mindful Self-Compassion program helps you to increase your well-being and resilience through positive psychology, neuroscience, and human development.
Learning to be more self-compassionate is positively associated with a decrease in stress, anxiety, and depression. It helps you maintain healthier lifestyle habits and increases positive states of mind, such as happiness, life satisfaction, and optimism.
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Objectives

Apply core self-compassion practices into daily life.
Not sure what self-compassion is? Check out this blog for more information!
You can participate in two ways:
Both options give you an opportunity to explore how you typically respond when difficulties arise in your life and to learn tools for becoming a warm and supportive companion to yourself. The program activities include short talks, experiential exercises, group discussion, and home practices.
